ScreenLens is a macOS utility app for local OCR, QR code, and barcode recognition. The app is designed to process user-selected screenshots, clipboard images, and local image files on the user's Mac.
Summary
ScreenLens does not track users, does not run analytics, and does not upload screenshots, recognized text, QR code contents, barcode contents, or history records.
Data Processing
ScreenLens processes the following data locally on the user's Mac:
- Screen areas selected by the user.
- Clipboard images scanned after the user chooses Scan Clipboard Image.
- Local image files selected by the user through Open Image.
- OCR text, QR code contents, barcode contents, and URL risk hints generated from those images.
- Local history records and thumbnail images when history saving is enabled.
This data remains on the user's Mac unless the user chooses to copy it, open a recognized URL, or export history.
Data Collection
ScreenLens does not collect user data. The app does not transmit user screenshots, OCR text, QR code contents, barcode contents, URL contents, history records, or thumbnails to ScreenLens, 65535.fun, third-party analytics services, advertising networks, or online safety-check services.
Tracking And Analytics
ScreenLens does not track users across apps or websites. ScreenLens does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, telemetry SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs in version 1.0.
Permissions
ScreenLens requests only the permissions needed for user-initiated features:
- Screen Recording: requested when the user starts screen-area capture.
- Clipboard access: used only when the user chooses Scan Clipboard Image.
- File access: used only for image files selected by the user.
URL Risk Hints
ScreenLens provides local URL risk hints for recognized URLs. These checks are performed on the user's Mac and do not contact remote servers. ScreenLens does not expand short links, follow redirects, or query online malicious-link databases in version 1.0.
If the user chooses to open a recognized URL, the URL is opened by the system or the user's browser. That external website or browser is outside ScreenLens's control.
In-App Purchases
ScreenLens Pro Lifetime is purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system. ScreenLens uses StoreKit to determine whether the user has purchased Pro. ScreenLens does not receive or store payment card details.
Local History And Export
History records and thumbnail images are stored locally inside the app sandbox. The user can delete individual history records, clear all history, or export history as CSV or TXT. Exported files are controlled by the user.
